Obituary of Ernest "Ernie" E. Nash

Ernest "Ernie" E. Nash, 84, of Madison, NJ passed away on January 29, 2019 at Morristown Medical Center.

Born in Culpepper, VA, Ernie resided in Madison for over 50 years.

Ernie proudly served his country in the 101st Airborne as a Paratrooper during the Korean War.

Ernie was the owner of Honor Tree and Lawn Service, Inc. in Madison for more than 50 years. He didn't finish much school, but finished every job he started!

Ernie was a member of the Madison "Huddle" Club, and the NJ Arborists Association.

Ernie is survived by his loving wife, Evelyn; and his devoted children, Sandy (Nash) Podimsky and her husband John, of Long Valley, and Chris Nash and his wife Sue, of Florham Park. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Dylan, Meghan, and Haley Podimsky, and Austin, Samantha, and Christopher Nash; as well as several nieces and nephews. Ernie was predeceased by his mother, Virginia, and his son, Ernie Nash, Jr.

Ernie was a well-respected and loved family man, always one to help anyone in need. The name of his company was fitting as he truly was an honorable man. Ernie loved the town of Madison and the many friends he made through the years. A simple man who could be seen driving his station wagon around town. Ernie's three loves were his family, his grandchildren, and his tree company.

Family and friends are welcome to gather on Friday, February 1, 2019 from 4-8pm at Burroughs, Kohr & Dangler Funeral Home, 106 Main Street, Madison, NJ. A Funeral Service for Ernie will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2019 a 10:30am at the Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum, East Hanover.

Because of his love of animals, in lieu of flowers, donations in Ernie's memory to St. Hubert's Animal Welfare Center (www.sthuberts.org) would be greatly appreciated.
