Beloved Wife, Sister, Aunt, Mother of 7 and Grandmother of 12

Marie Anne Aloia, 91, died peacefully at home, Thursday, February 21, 2019.

Born in Newark on January 26, 1928, Marie grew up in Livingston and was a graduate of St. James High School in Newark. She was a natural athlete and excelled at many sports. She was always proud of earning the honor of “Playground Champ.” After graduation, she worked as an office manager/bookkeeper at Newark Leather Finish.

Together with her husband of nearly 66 years, she devoted her life to the adventure of raising her seven children. A resident of Randolph, NJ for 62 years, she was a dedicated volunteer at St. Margaret’s Church and School. She served for years as a Mother’s Guild Member, Library and Bingo volunteer and as her daughters’ Girl Scout leader for 10 years.

Marie’s energy and ready smile welcomed everyone who came her way. She gladly offered you a cup of tea and an ear to listen, and there was always an extra place at the dinner table. Her love was her legacy to her family.

Surviving is her loving husband, Al, her seven children, Marie, Dan (Donna), Debbie Repak (Mike); Tim (Nancy); Louisa, Anne Meigh (Rich); and Maggie Rohr (Peter), 12 grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be at Dangler Funeral home, 600 Speedwell Avenue, Morris Plains, NJ on Tuesday, February 26, from 2- 4 PM and 7-9 PM. The funeral mass will be on Wednesday, February 27, at 10 AM, at St. Margaret of Scotland Church, 6 Sussex Avenue, Morristown, NJ. Interment will follow at Holy Rood Cemetery in Morristown, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital (www.stjude.org).
