Obituary of Susan J. Somma

Susan J. Somma (nee Witteman) passed away peacefully on March 15, 2019 at the Morristown Medical Center, Morristown, NJ.

Susan was born in Union, NJ. She graduated from Union High School in 1962.  In 1964, she graduated from Union Tech and became a Dental Assistant.

After starting a family, Susan moved to Morristown, where she lived for over 47 years.  She worked as a Crossing Guard for the town of Morristown for over 28 years. 

Susan is survived by her loving husband Frank for 50 years, and was a loving mother to her daughter Sheryl McNichol  (Patrick).  She is also survived by her cherished granddaughters, Casey and Taylor McNichol; her sister, Lois Struble  (Wes), of Brooksville, Fla.; her brother-in-law, James Somma (Camille), of Greenbrook, NJ; and many nieces and nephews. 

She enjoyed cooking, baking, needlepoint, spending time at her shore house and spending the day in Ocean City, but above all, she loved spending time with her family and passing the time with her loyal dog "Duchess."

Family and friends are welcome to gather on Saturday, March 23, 2019 from 10-11am at Dangler Funeral Home, 600 Speedwell Avenue, Morris Plains. A Memorial Service for Susan will be held at 11:00am, following the visitation, at the Funeral Home. Interment will be private.
