Obituary of Nina B Simon

Nina Freundova Simon, 77, of Teaneck, passed away on November 13, 2015. Born in Prague, Czech Republic in 1938, Nina was a resident of Oradell for nearly 50 years before moving to Teaneck earlier this year. Nina was a Psychiatric social worker, who worked for Hackensack Hospital before developing her private practice. Nina is survived by her loving daughters, Tanya Linn Simon, Lesley Ellen Simon, and Alicia Anne Wistrand; and her devoted sons-in-law, Vincent Basciano and Jon Wistrand. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Nicholas, Adam and Corey Basciano, Michael and Matthew Greco, Andrew and Rachel Wistrand; and granddaughter-in-law, Laura. Nina was predeceased by her parents, Walter and Nelly Forman, and her brother, Paul F. Forman. Nina enjoyed her profession, playing bridge and spending time with her family and her loyal companion, Sophie. She was a fierce advocate for herself, her loved ones, and all of those whom she cared about and all of the injustices she came across. She will be missed. A Funeral Service for Nina will be held on Sunday, November 15, 2015 at 10:00am at Temple B’Nai Or, 60 Overlook Road, Morristown. Interment will follow at Kensico Cemetery, Valhalla, NY.
