Obituary of Barbara L Martin

Please share a memory of Barbara to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Barbara Lou Martin (Brady) of Morristown passed away peacefully at the age of 74 on May 20, 2015, at home, surrounded by family and friends. She was the adored wife of Robert, Sr., and devoted mother of Edward and Robert, Jr. Born on October 6th, 1940, she was the oldest daughter of Howard and Evelyn Brady (Cole) and one of eight siblings. Besides her immediate family, she is survived by a sister and her husband (Beverly and Brian Rongo), four brothers and their wives (Wendell and Marge, William and Laura, David and Ann, Mark and Marcella), a sister-in-law and brother-in-law (Corliss and Donald Gesell), two daughters-in-law (Suzanne Moyers, Elaine Martin), three grandchildren (Connor, Jassi and Sara) and many nieces and nephews. Two brothers (Ronald, James) predeceased her. A long-time resident of Morristown and member of the United Methodist Church, Barbara graduated from Morristown High School and worked for RCA Service Center in Rockaway. Most recently she worked as an office manager for a family chiropractor practice in Morristown. Her passion, besides her family, was automobiles. When she and Bob met, they discovered a shared interest in cars. Fueling her enthusiasm, Barbara worked for the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) at various drag racing venues across the eastern U.S. and had been around classic and high-performance cars all of her adult life. We will surely miss such a compassionate, loving and generous wife, mother and friend, who faced adversity with beautiful grace, quiet strength and indomitable courage and whose spirit will live on within all of our hearts. We love you dearly, always and forever Barbara/Mom/Memaw! Viewing will be held at Dangler Funeral home, 600 Speedwell Avenue, Morris Plains, on Wednesday, May 27th from 4:00-8:00pm. Service will be held at 11:00am the following day at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Randolph Regional Animal Shelter are appreciated.
