Obituary of Dorothy J. Valleau

Dorothy Jane Valleau (Boulton) passed away on January 26, 2017 after a courageous battle with ALS. She is predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Richard Clinton Valleau. Born in Brookside, NJ, Dorothy met her high school sweetheart at Morristown High School. They married after graduation (1953) and moved to Hawaii while Richard was in the United States Air Force. They set down roots in Morris Plains, NJ where they raised their family. Dorothy obtained her Registered Nursing Degree from County College of Morris and her Masters from Seton Hall University. She worked at Morristown Memorial Hospital for 30 years. Dorothy was an avid lover of music and sang in the chorus at the Women’s Club of Morristown where she was a member for over 50 years. Dorothy’s zest for life was evident in her smile and her love of family and friends. Her spunk and courage were her hallmarks. She was always surrounded by her children, grandchildren and extended family. Her generosity was spread in her kindness to others, service work and card writing campaign. She is survived by her three children, Kathleen Gervasio & husband Richard; Clint Valleau & wife Anne; Cristina Gronke & husband Mark, her three siblings John Boulton & Wife Sharon, Henry Boulton & wife Faye, Mary Carey & husband Fred and her treasured grandchildren Kenny, Sean, Matthew, Michael, Kimberly, Joseph, Kristin, Todd, Kori, Samantha, RJ, Jonathan, Steven and great granddaughter Blake; and her loving companion, Nevin Kershner. A gathering will take place at Dangler Funeral Home, 600 Speedwell Ave., Morris Plains, NJ from 3:00-7:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 28th. Dorothy’s life will be celebrated on Sunday, January 29th at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 29 Hillview Ave., Morris Plains, NJ at 2:00pm with a repast to follow.
