To the family of Frank Moretti:
You don't know me but I am a cousin of Frank's, a long-lost cousin. I came upon this obituary while Googling around. I don't know just how I landed here but here I am. While I was not close to Frankie, Jr., as I remember he was called, I do recall he was a very handsome, striking person. It warms my heart to know, however, that he was much more than that. What wonderful traits for one person to have and be remembered by. His father was my Uncle Frank and his mother was my Aunt Anna by marriage. (I think my mother Marie De Sena was her maid-of-honor.) My father was Fred De Sena (Uncle Freddie), my siblings are Joseph De Sena and Fred Jr. De Sena. At any rate, I am very saddened to know such a fine person has left this earth way too soon and my warmest wishes go out to the family. I don't know that you will get this message but God bless all of you.

We first met Frank and Patty on Safari in South Africa followed by a cruise where we got to know each other. We last saw both when we visited New York for my wife Sue's birthday and could not have asked for better hosts. The photo is our final afternoon in Central Park together.
The world is a duller place without Frank.

To Patty and the Moretti's,
So sorry for your loss. Even though I met Frank not long ago you could tell his strength and caring were apparent. He is easily one of the most admirable guys I've ever met.Despite his disease he wouldn't let that get in the way of him accomplishing remodeling the house the way he wanted. I consider myself fortunate to have met him and my heart goes out to your family. God bless

THINKING OF FRANK
A personality as big as a warm summer day
Frank never at a loss for the right thing to say
His great sense of humor was a gift from above
He spread it so generously all wrapped up with love
The good life was part of his creed and his style
He always knew how to make everyone smile
When he chose his dear Patti to walk by his side
He knew that the good life would continue to thrive
They faced life together both the good and the bad
But they knew without question a truly full life they had

On the occasion of Uncle Russ's 90th birthday, Frankie came to White Tool and brought him a gift Russ had always talked about having, a mandolin. The instrument is beautiful, the sentiment as heartfelt as could be. Frankie loved Uncle Russ more than we know and the feeling is mutual.

Fond memories going back to Heyward Street, Lakewood, Rosedale, Lido Beach, Coney Island, Steeplechase Park, Belmont Racetrack, Louie's Oyster Bar, Mickey Mantle's and Long Beach. I know no one who thought more about or did more for his immediate and extended family, but especially his mother and sister, Dolores. Frankie gave of himself, time, financial resources, friendship, self-sacrifice and LOVE. The kind of love we share with family and life-long friends.
To me, Cousin Frankie was a brother, and I know he was a father figure to many. He was a great businessman and he had broad, diverse interests; riding horses, sports, raising dogs, racetracks, boating, fishing, hunting, skeet shooting, cooking, travel, restaurants and shopping for Italian delicacies. He loved to share his goodies with everyone and we all enjoyed his generous nature. Frankie was the king of good times, he simply loved to PARTY. If you were his guest, lucky you because Frankie left nothing out. When he came to visit, he brought the items he loved like Italian twist seeded bread, big chunks of Reggiano parmigiano cheese and fresh Castelvetrano olives, from the town in Sicily where our grandparents emigrated from. He loved everything Italian and the heritage he shared with the Moretti & LoBello families. Frankie once said to me and I quote "I was so lucky to be brought up in this family", pointing out the good times we shared many times over many years. He was very emotional and shed tears speaking about this. Frankie inherited his good nature from his dad, Uncle Frankie, who was generous and loving to the nth degree.
Eight years ago, Frankie helped me get through a tough period which I will never forget. He gave his time, encouragement and mental support. In recent years, every phone call we shared ended with a spontaneous "I love you" from both of us. What I loved the most was the greeting he gave me when I called him. He always answered with a simple "Hey, Nino." I will miss this forever!
To me Cousin Frankie IS, not Was, a folk hero, larger than life. Like the Lone Ranger whom we both admired. He always came running to the aid of those in need. So I gave him a special nickname, "Kemosabe". You remember Tonto? They were brothers in Native American Culture. A faithful friend.
Dedicated to someone I love and to those he loved. Heartbroken. Nino.

Patty,
When you and Frank bought my father's house I knew it was in good hands.
The amount of love & work you two did was extraordinary! You and Frank welcomed my family to come visit the house and not many people would do that after a purchase. There are some funny stories you two told us that I will always remember.
It is a blessing to have known Frank for the little time I did.
Sending you love, hugs and prayers.

Patty, my heart goes out to you. Although I knew you both for a short time, you both feel like family. The circumstance was not a happy one when we met but you know how much I appreciated the transformation you created of Dads house into a beautiful home. I just wish Frank had been able to enjoy it longer. My thoughts and prayers go out to you. I love you both.
Love Nancy

I first met Frank in the 1980s, introduced to me by Dennis as his oldest and dearest friend. Movie star handsome, gregarious and charming, Frank won my heart in an instant. He was genuinely happy to meet me and took time to learn how I knew Dennis and to learn more about Dorothy and about our lives in general. Frank was born the day after Dorothy in the same year, so it was customary for all of us to speak on those days. Frank was the consummate gentleman, the height of sartorial splendor and possessed a warmth that enveloped all in his company. When we met, he was a senior executive with the Confectioner's Union, so I immediately dubbed him Frankie Sugar. Years later, when he founded a commercial painting company, I dubbed him Picasso. Frank is Ali's Godfather, Richard is Christian's Godfather and I am Godfather to Piper. Occasionally, the three Godfathers would be together and bask in the love of our Godchildren. I will always think fondly of those occasions.
To Dennis he was Bear, to Patty he was a darling husband, and to Frank Jr. he was a great father, friend and hero. To all who knew and loved him, he was one of the sweetest guys who ever lived. I will miss him, we all will miss him and we will keep him in our hearts forever. Rest in peace Ciccio. Rest in peace.
