Remembering one of the greats in Madison who made a positive difference to our downtown. I moved to Madison and raised my family there from 1976-2004. I recall the Locker Room and especially the delicious meals at PRIMO on MAIN. Sal was always warm and welcoming and his contribution to Madison is certainly one for its’ history books. My sincere sympathies to his family and friends. I moved to FL in 2004 and do not hear a lot of news about Madison but believe me the Borough is Always In My Heart. God Bless you all and thank you for allowing me to share my recall. Madison was a great town with great family spirit. Miss you all. Peachie

So sorry to hear. Sal was a big influence on my life. I worked for him in the Locker Room in 1967 and 68. He treated me like family and was always there for sound fatherly advice when I needed it, which was often with me being a young teenager. He taught me a good work ethic which helped me in my work life after the Locker Room. I would always stop in to visit for many years after I left until I moved too far away to make it. My brother Larry used to run into Sal and he would tell me Sal asked how I was doing. I regret not seeing him for these many years. My deepest condolences to the family. Rest in peace Sal.

Out of all my parents’ close friends while I was growing up, Sal was among the most memorable to me. He would tell me very honest stories about my father who died very young, in a way that no one else did. Sal was also probably one of the funniest people I’ve ever known. He really could have been a stand up comedian with that sense of humor. Prayers to the Luciano family.

Sal gave me (not only) the gift of an Uncle...but an Uncle that I relied upon all my life. He lived a long and successful life, but (still) will be missed by me. I look at a photo from his days in Korea during the war every morning...a hero.
