Our kind, generous champion and head exhibit designer, teacher and friend of Community Children's Museum, Chris Kennett has passed away from Covid-19. I remember his endless enthusiasm, his love of teaching, his creative ability to make the complex understandable and his devotion to the the renovation of the Friendship 7 space capsule and the Community Children's Museum. Over and out Chris you will be missed and thank you for your service to the children of NJ!
Sending love to Johnathan and Shar.

Chris was a beloved member of our Mt. Allamuchy Scout Reservation family as well as an outstanding individual and personal friend. His selfless contributions to our camp brought joy to all and he was a role model of care and consideration for us to emulate. It was always a pleasure to be with Chris because no matter what, he had that engaging smile of his going strong! He is missed but not forgotten--nor will he ever be. Rest in peace, my friend. And, as Lord Robert Baden-Powell so eloquently expressed for all Scouts who have passed on to a different life: Chris has gone home.

One day I received a call. The man at the other end said he wanted to run a program area at the Black River Family Camping Cuboree to earn his Wood Badge. "Come on", I said. During the event Chris flint-napped a flint for over 200 young scouts, all the while talking and presenting an expert program on Paleo Technology.
Suffice it to say Chris became our go to crafts guy. Dream Catchers, tomahawks, totems. Wonderful stuff.
Rain or shine Chris was a ray of sunshine.
He will be missed. I so enjoyed our brainstorming sessions on 'what to do next'.

On behalf of our committee, please accept our sincere condolences.

Chris having a laugh with his Flintlocks friends
Chris was dedicated to volunteering for the Boy Scouts through the Flintlocks, a group of 27 retired men who came to the Scout camps every week. Chris loved the guys and came up every Wednesday to Camp Allamuchy and every Thursday to Camp Winnebago. He worked on many projects which were a permanent improvement to the camps. He built the STEM lab, renovated several cabins and put paneling in the Administration building. His contribution to the camps will last a long time. Chris also spent a week at Sabattis Wilderness Camp in upstate New York for a work week with Frank and George. They built a new archery range and a handicapped ramp. On Thursdays, we would all meet for coffee at the beginning of the day, put in a good morning of work, then meet again for lunch. So everyone got to know each other pretty well. Chris was a wonderful guy. He will be missed.

Chris and I were Bears together on our Woodbadge course N5-358-15. We spent many hours talking about spirituality and health. He gave a very powerful Scouts Own I will never forget. He was sweet, kind and genuine. He will be missed.
