Obituary of Susan J. Gechtman

Susan J. Gechtman (nee Nieuzytek), 63, of Morris Plains, NJ passed away Friday, August 28, 2020. Susan was a loving and devoted wife, sister and aunt. Susan was born in Newark, NJ February 2, 1957 to the late Nancy and Steven Nieuzytek. Susan grew up in Livingston, NJ and was a graduate of Livingston High School. She lived many years in Morris Plains, NJ with her husband, Peter, and lived briefly in Florida. Susan loved the ocean and spent many family summers at Ortley Beach, NJ. She was happiest when spending time with her family, cousins and aunts and uncles down the shore. Susan is survived by her adoring husband, Peter Gechtman, loving siblings, Kathleen Rice, Scott Nieuzytek and wife, Naomi; precious nephew and godson, Michael Rice; and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, and brother, Steven P. Nieuzytek. Susan chose to be cremated and there will be no service at this time, however, the family intends to celebrate her life at a later date.
