Obituary of Peter F. Olnowich, Jr.

Peter F. Olnowich, Jr., 58, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2020 at Overlook Hospital in Summit, NJ. He was born in Brooklyn, NY to Peter Olnowich, Sr. and Sharon Olnowich. He is survived by his wife, Patti and two daughters Allie and Jennifer. Peter grew up in Rochester, NY. He graduated from the University of Buffalo in 1985 and subsequently earned his MBA from the University of Rochester. Peter spent his career in Investment and Corporate Banking. He started at Chemical Bank, and spent several years focusing on Mergers and Acquisitions. He then worked many years at Citigroup as a Relationship Manager in the Metals and Mining industry. Peter spent the last eight years as a Managing Director for Standard Chartered Bank, where he was a valued colleague and mentor to those he worked with. Peter was an uncommonly good man, a devoted husband and father, who spent much of his free time supporting his daughters, taking tremendous pride in all their accomplishments, most notably on the ice or soccer field. He was an avid fan of all sports, especially ice hockey. He enjoyed skiing, sailing, and hiking, learning about history, puttering inside and outside the house, taking family vacations, and enjoying restaurants and pubs locally and through his travels. Peter had a unique enthusiasm for life, a voracious curiosity of all things, and an unusual breadth and depth of knowledge in a great variety of subjects. Peter was laid to rest on September 4, 2020 at Woodbridge Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are under the care of Burroughs, Kohr & Dangler Funeral Home, Madison.
