Obituary of Carol Ann Behre

Carol Ann Behre, a long time resident of Chatham, NJ passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 9th, 2021 in Morristown, NJ. She was 81 years old. Born on December 30th, 1939 in Summit, NJ, as the daughter of late Carlton M Wood and Marion N Wood. She was raised in Madison, NJ where she met the love of her life, John Behre. Married on November 10th, 1962, they resided in Bernardsville, NJ before moving to Chatham, NJ in 1965. Carol was a long time parishioner of Corpus Christi Parish in Chatham, NJ. Carol was a homemaker who enjoyed entertaining her family for celebrations and holidays. Her favorite time of year was always Christmas, as seen by her elaborate Christmas decorations not only inside but outside of her family home. She loved camping trips with her children and baking Christmas cookies with her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She was happiest when amongst family, and she will always be remembered for her infectious smile. Carol is predeceased by her sisters Dorothy, Mildred, Myrtle, and Sandra. She is survived by her loving husband John Behre, her devoted children John Jr. and spouse David Green, Kevin, Cheryl and her partner Steve Hegeman, Jeffrey and his partner Lynn Budnik, Keith and his wife Susan, and her four grandchildren Hope, Rose, Brett, and Lindsay. Carol is also survived by her brother, Carlton (Bud) Wood and his wife Billijean of Jonesborough, TN, her sister-in-law Marylou Trainor of Madison, NJ, her brother-in-law Ron Ackley of FL, and many nieces and nephews. Carol also leaves behind her faithful four-legged companion “Budda.” A visitation will be held at Burroughs Kohr & Dangler Funeral Home, 106 Main Street in Madison, NJ on Wednesday November 17th from 2-6pm with a memorial service at 5pm. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Chatham Township Emergency Squad, 45 Spring Street in Chatham, NJ at www.chathamemergencysquad.org or a charity of your choice.
