Obituary of Jesse R. Gallante

Jesse R. Gallante, 91, passed away February 9, 2022, at Morristown Medical Center under hospice after a brief illness. Born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Jesse moved to New Jersey with his young family after a job offer, and resided there for over 30 years. He later moved to Naples, Florida, finally settling again to New Jersey, where he has lived for the past three years. Although, he did not receive much formal education, Jesse went on to work at Inmont, then to BASF in Elizabeth, New Jersey, where he became Plant Supervisor for over 25 years, retiring in 1989. Jesse was a parishioner of Notre Dame of Mount Carmel Church in Cedar Knolls, New Jersey. Jesse is survived by his children, Joseph Gallante and his wife, Mary, David Gallante and his wife, Beth, Patrcia Gallante, and Judith Hooper and her husband, Douglas, his grandchildren, David Gallante, Matthew Gallante and his wife, Steff, Katherine Kennedy and her husband, Chris, Geoffrey Gallante, Meghan Muherin and her husband, Daniel, Jesse Gallante, Mariel Donovan and her husband, Michael, Joseph Gallante, Thomas Gallante, Christopher Hooper and Elena Hooper. He is also survived by twelve great grandchildren, sisters, Natalie Harbinson and Tillie Dellano, and his beloved Chihuahua, Jackie. Jesse is predeceased by his wife, Margaret (Peggy) Witham Gallante (1990), long time partner, Joyce Shann (2015), and siblings, Gerri Dias, Cynthia Panico, Mary Ivy and Joseph Galante. A Funeral Mass will be held Monday, February 14, 2022, at 10 am at Notre Dame of Mount Carmel Church, 75 Ridgedale Avenue, Cedar Knolls. Jesse will be buried on Cape Cod, Massachusetts with his wife, Peggy. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jesse's memory may be made to the Notre Dame of Mount Carmel Food Rescue Ministry, 75 Ridgedale Avenue, Cedar Knolls, New Jersey 07927 - please put “Food Rescue” on the memo line.
