We had a lot of fun with Diane, her mom Fran, the Lombardo sisters and their mom Aunt Angie on the occasions when we were out east visiting. And when that group got together the cooking was out of this world. We always found Diane to be loving, concerned for others yet full of infectious positive energy. And she was a great daughter who took excellent care of our beloved Fran. We'll miss her and extend our deepest sympathies to Richard and Diane's family.

She was the friend that came to others offering her nursing skills and assuring bedside manner...
She was the friend that held your hand as you cared for your ailing parents...
She was the friend that walked through the highs and lows with you never seeking anything in return...
She was the friend that dried your tears when your life fell apart...
She was the friend that made the call EVERYDAY, no matter what, just to ask, "Are you OK?"
She was the friend that ended EVERY phone call with "I LOVE YOU" to let you know how much she cared...
She was the friend to forgive others first and knew to turn the other cheek...
She was the friend that would come to you, without being asked, to do whatever you needed...
She was, and will forever be, my best friend...in my best life memories...all filled with laughter and joy.
This was truly the essence of Diane Rocco. She lived by her faith and love, teaching us all to do the same. It was my honor, Diane, to call you friend but, you were so much more...I am grateful to have shared more than half of my life with you and, half of my heart went with you as you left this Earth. You will always be with us...wherever we go...just as the three of us always did...

If you knew Diane Rocco, you could never forget her. I grew up with Diane and her whole family. When we were little our families went to the shore every year for two weeks (Rocco’s, Lucia’s and the Caruso’s). Such a good time we had at the beach, jumping the waves, going to the Boardwalk, Friday nights at Howard Johnson’s fish night-all you could eat!, and the drive in movies. Then school at Saint Margaret’s grammar School, then Bailey Ellard where she made life long friends.Diane went to Monmouth Memorial and did her clinical at Jersey Shore Medical Center. We both went to Morristown Memorial Hospital for our first jobs. Diane worked on a surgical floor and had many friends and memories from there. She eventually left and worked at a psych facility, was a supervisor at a nursing home, and finally worked for the Newark School System as a school nurse (can you imagine). She love the children there. Diane had a great group of friends there and they all contributed to charitable events to help their children. Diane loved her sister Tudy very much, her nephews, and great nephew and nieces. Diane had a great network of friends around her and if you knew Diane, you knew who they were. Too many to list. Diane always made everyone cry with laughter and to be truthful loved to swear, whether in Italian or English she was very proficient. Diane you will be sorely missed by all. I still can’t believe you are not here. I know your going to have everyone laughing in heaven. Love, Janice

My Sincere Heartfelt Condolences on the passing of
Ms. Rocco I had the pleasure of Conducting her annual Immunization Audit at Abington Avenue School which is my alumna. She always treated me like royalty when I entered each year because I was a past student there. Ms. Rocco loved the Students,Staff they were Family. She was a hard worker and always 100% in her Audit. She had a voice that was so full of joy, laughter and Love. She loved to Travel. I was glad that she was able to Retire in 2019 before the Pandemic and have time for the things that she loved. I'm truly Heartbroken on her passing but she will Rest in Eternal Peace now. You were an Angel On Earth Ms. Rocco and I will miss your sweet voice forever. Your Friend Ms. Butler -Newark Health Department

I was saddened by the news of Diane. It is a great loss for all who had the privilege in knowing her. Diane and I were first acquainted in 1979, when she was assigned to MMH's Jefferson 1 unit. I was a tech, in nursing school. My first impression was that she was just a knowledgeable and, more importantly, a genuine human being. She was enthusiastic about any assignment she undertook, and gave her best energy toward it. Later, as we moved into the world of public education, I can only believe that she was the consummate school nurse for the inner-city elementary students she cared for in Newark. Our chapter continued when she characterized Mrs. Santa Claus for two of my Yuletide events - again, demonstrated with charm and finesse that only she could empower. I am pleased to know that her energy remains in my home. It is a welcome vibration from an authentic Morristown girl! Diane represents what many aspire, but few achieve, as it is said. I hope she takes comfort in knowing the impact and impression she made in this physical world. Continued rest and peace with your wonderful family and friends who have crossed before you, Diane.
With condolences for all,
Robert Havas

Diane - we had so much fun growing up on Washington St. You, me, Tudy and Georgeann.
From going to the high school field, playing in our yards, Barbie’s on the front porch to manasquan in the summers, the backyard BBQ’s, that pig roast, roller skating on those bad sidewalks - it was all fun.
Then to reconnect with you guys down the shore a few years ago was a great surprise. We got to have grown up memories too.
Rest in Paradise Diane. Very, very sad
