Obituary of Peter J. Lee, Jr.

Born in Jersey City, New Jersey, Peter grew up in the Vailsburg section of Newark, New Jersey, where he had many fond memories of his childhood years. Peter, his wife, Suzanne (nee Miller), and young family moved to Morris Township 38 years ago.

 

Peter graduated from Essex Catholic High School in 1970 and began working. Pete was a Communications Technician with Verizon in Cedar Knolls, New Jersey. Within the Verizon community, Pete was known for his outstanding work ethic. He always went the extra mile for customers and colleagues alike. 

 

Peter was an avid sports fan. Besides enjoying professional sports as a spectator, he devoted many years to coaching Morristown National Little League teams. Long after his own children were raised, he continued to dedicate his time to the young people of the Morristown area.

 

Peter leaves behind by his loving wife, Suzanne Lee, devoted children, Mark Lee, of Sequim, Washington, Lauren Gambino and her husband, Philip of Bridgewater, New Jersey, Jillian Caruso and her husband, Michael, of Rockaway, New Jersey, and Matthew Lee and his fiancé, Dina, of Little Ferry, New Jersey. Peter is also survived by his adoring grandchildren, Gabriella and Maya Gambino, and Calleigh Caruso, cherished siblings, Barbara Spangenberg and her husband, Robert, and James Lee and his wife, Maree, and a host of many special nieces and nephews.

 

Peter is predeceased by his beloved parents, Peter J. Lee, Sr. and Elizabeth T. Lee.

 

Family and friends are welcome to gather on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 from 4 pm to 8 pm at Dangler Funeral Home, 600 Speedwell Avenue, Morris Plains. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, April 7, 2022 at 10 am at St. Virgil's Church, 250 Speedwell Avenue, Morris Plains. Interment will follow at Holy Rood Cemetery, Morristown.
