We first met Virginnia when we moved into our neighborhood 25 years ago. Separated by just 1 house, we often saw her walking her dog, Beau and on one of those occasions had the pleasure of meeting her. Virginnia exuded intelligence, grace, and keen sense of humor. We quickly bonded over our shared love of dogs and always looked forward to seeing her. Many years and a new dog (Bear) later, her mobility started to fail. We began walking Bear at times to help, and eventually it became a daily routine. We would see Virginnia when we came to her house to get the dog and almost always engaged in a few minutes of pleasant conversation.
You could not have asked for a better neighbor and friend. We miss those conversations, her quick wit, and her smile. It is a loss for us personally and for our neighborhood. She will not be forgotten.
