Doreen sat behind me in typing class at Cardinal Spellman. It wasn’t our best talent at the time, so we had daily contests to see who got the lowest typing timing. I think we tied amidst many stifled giggles. Where Doreen did excel was with her big heart! She was upbeat and kind, valuing all points of view. Our sincere condolences at this huge loss. Peace on Doreen and her loving family.
Prayers,
Liz Duignan Powell and Ralph Powell

Doreen and I (along with a few others, you know who you are) shared 12 years of sisterhood at Merrill Lynch. I couldn’t have survived without her. She often surprised me with the vision for her life both personal and professional and she made it all come true. She was and is a beacon and I will miss her deeply.

Doreen was such a talented, special and creative person. I cherish the memories we made at the Villa Maria Academy.I joined the class in 3rd grade and Doreen is a big part of my memories from those years. Then 6 of us” Villa Girls” moved on to Cardinal Spellman H.S. in 1968. We six Villa friends carried our friendship to Spellman where Doreen was a natural leader! Her family was always to warm and welcoming to me. I am so proud of her accomplishments, but not surprised at all! She was an unforgettable person!Rest In Peace, dear Doreen . All my prayers go to your family .

Doreen was the most brilliant, talented and funny person I’ve ever known. We shared the same first name but I always thought of her as the superior Doreen. We were comrades from first grade through the end of high school. We last spoke when I found out about her illness, five years ago. Although so many years had passed, we still had the same memories and feelings about our friendship. I will never forget her. Goodnight, Doreen, may you rest in peace.
