Obituary of Dianna R. DeLorenzo
Dianna Rose DeLorenzo, 80, of Morris Plains, passed away at home peacefully with her loving family by her side.
Born in Morristown, Dianna grew up in Boonton. Dianna was very close with her cousins, aunts and uncles.
Dianna graduated from Boonton High School in 1960, and then went on to work at the Mennen Company where she met her future husband, Joseph.
After the birth of their first son, they moved to Morristown and shortly after his birth to their home in Morris Plains, where they raised their four children. Dianna also lovingly cared for her parents, Amerigo “Corky” and Cecelia “Celia” Croce.
She was an active member of St Virgil’s Parish. In her spare time, she volunteered for numerous positions at both church and school where her children attended. She enjoyed attending Broadway Shows with her friends and frequent “lunch with the ladies”. She also loved gardening and visiting her “happy place: LBI” with her children and grandchildren.
Dianna is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Joseph “Joe” Patrick DeLorenzo; and her devoted children, Anthony DeLorenzo and his wife Terry, of Parsippany, Joe DeLorenzo, Jr., of Alexandria, Virginia, AnneMarie Keegan and her husband Tom, of Rockaway, and Mary Vanecek and her husband Bill, of Randolph. She is also survived by her dear brother, William Croce and his wife Marie, of Naperville Illinois; her cherished grandchildren, Anthony, Ashley (husband Daniel), Adrianna, JD, Dean, Sean, Owen, Timmy, Connor and Olivia; great-grandchildren: Savannah, Arya, Bradley and Aiden; as well as her adored nieces and nephews, Mike, Bob, Sue and Jeannette, and their extended families, whom “Aunt Dianna” loved unconditionally. Dianna was predeceased by her parents, Amerigo “Corky” and Cecelia (Olearka) Croce.
Family and friends are welcome to gather on Sunday, February 26, 2023 from 2-5pm at Dangler Funeral Home, 600 Speedwell Avenue, Morris Plains. A Mass of Christian Burial for Dianna will be held on Monday, February 27, 2023 at 10:00am at St. Virgil’s Church, 250 Speedwell Avenue, Morris Plains. Interment will follow at Holy Rood Cemetery, Morristown.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations in memory of Dianna may be made to: Lewy Body Dementia Association (https://www.lbda.org/donate/), or The Trees Remember (https://thetreesremember.com/memorial-trees/).
Dianna dedicated her life to caring for her family and was blessed with 14 grandchildren and great grandchildren who lit up her life. Despite battling Lewy Body Dementia, she was always able to enjoy hugs and kisses from them. Whenever anyone asked what she needed, Mama unwaveringly responded, “Just hugs and time with you.”
