Memories of Jim Logan: We met when he and my sister Alba were engaged. I was in college, one of those leftist hotbeds. So I was a liberal. Jim was still an FBI agent and a proud son of Iowa, which voted mainly for GOP presidential candidates.So he was a conservative. This led to some interesting discussions about state of the nation and the world at Sunday family dinners. Things began to change as we each became absorbed by professional and family life. Jim became more liberal, and I became more conservative. and we met in the center. We never told one another how we voted, though I wouldn't be surprised if Jim voted, say, for Obama and I voted for Romney.Jim wasn't through learning new things. That's why, in middle age, he and some friends began sitting in on tough courses at Princeton University, to the delight apparently of the professors who had "adults" to talk to. As if that wasn't enough, Jim undertook the reading of a list of the world's most famous books. I think he finished it. We are sorry for the loss, to the family and to all of us, of Jim Logan: good guy, smart guy. \ Dave (Tullio) Mazzarella
