Holiday Treasures

When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure.

The holidays are difficult for those who have lost a loved one. When everyone else is enjoying themselves, the bereaved can feel sad and lonely.  The thought of the holiday traditions that were once shared with family and friends become a more poignant reminder of what they have lost.

As you share your holiday traditions, give yourself permission to feel sad, feel good, to laugh and cry. You can offer a holiday toast or prayer in honor of your loved one. It is also okay to make new traditions with your family. These new traditions can honor your loved one.

The cherished memories of your loved one become the special gifts that will always be a part of you and will last with you forever. Unwrap these memories and share them with your family and friends.

May your heart feel the peace of this holiday season.
